Liggins Restoration
Appeal

This year’s Appeal presents the opportunity to play an important part in the restoration of a precious part of 91Ô¼ÅÚ’ heritage: the single surviving element of our School grounds linking almost 100 years of Redlanders.

The Liggins Building, originally known as Liggins House, opened on 9 May 1923 in honour of 91Ô¼ÅÚ’ co-founder Elizabeth Liggins. First a boarding house, then kitchen, art room, laboratory, pottery workshop and during WWII, it even housed the School’s bomb shelter.Ìý

Protecting our Heritage

Today, it comprises much loved Language classrooms and the Staff Common Room. Throughout its history, our community has generously supported some of its upgrades, including the 2007 Science Block/Liggins Atrium Project enjoyed by students today.ÌýThe proposed restoration will help preserve its historic façade, restore the roof, refurbish the interior, install state-of-the-art technology and provide space for heritage and archival displays.

Your support of the Liggins Restoration Appeal will help revive this treasured icon for generations of past, present and future Redlanders to enjoy.
