Curriculum

At the 91Ô¼ÅÚ Preparatory School, students develop a strong foundation in key Literacy and Numeracy skills, and our Units of Enquiry program encourages students to ask questions and problem solve to become critical thinkers, risk takers and effective learners. A core aim is to ensure the best foundations are laid for children to become confident, independent and passionate lifelong learners as well as socially aware as they prepare for their studies in Junior School.

Within the classroom, each child is given the opportunity to work at their own level of ability. French, Music, Physical Education and Library are all taught by specialist teachers.

A Holistic Education

Our academic program is enhanced by a comprehensive cocurricular program. After school Sport options include Football, Gymnastics and Multi-Sport and our Performing Arts program offers classes and performance opportunities in Ballet, Jazz, Actingand Musical Theatre.

In addition to classroom Music lessons, the Year 2 Strings program involves all students learning either violin or cello, with students having the opportunity to also participate in the Prep Choir. Private Music tuition is available for the piano, violin, cello and flute.

At 91Ô¼ÅÚ, our staff work collaboratively to prepare our students to acquire self-confidence and resilience. Across the Preparatory School, we focus on specialising in student engagement and developing the social and emotional core competencies. We work at explicitly teaching and implicitly modelling and promoting self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, respectful relationships and responsible decision making.

All students are encouraged to have an active input into their own learning and leadership skills are developed through Student-led Assemblies, Environment Patrol, Library Monitors and our Big Buddy program.

Hours

To cater for busy working parents, students can be dropped off at school from 8.00am and After School Care is available until 6.00pm. An action-packed Vacation Care program operates during the school holiday periods.
